About us

We’re Holly, Grace and Kate and we met through working in the charity sector - there’s more on each of us below. We’re passionate about the UK charity and wider VCSE sector and want to see it thrive, and this is why we’re setting up the FLN.

We have two main goals for the FLN. First is to create a supportive and safe space for everyone developing their careers in the sector to come together and share expertise so that we can flourish. Second, is to amplify voices; both as individuals in the FLN and the FLN as a whole, so that we can shape the future of the sector. For more on why we decided to set up the FLN, see the blog. We know there are brilliant groups doing brilliant things in our sector, and it’s our hope that we can work alongside these networks, to make the sector stronger for all of us.

As part of this vision, inclusivity is vital to us and will be the cornerstone of making the FLN the success we want it to be. We’re aware, as three white, cis, able-bodied women, that we’ve some work to do here and this will be our main goal as the FLN is being set up and developed. As a start, we’re proactively looking at our governance and how we’ll operate to ensure we become as inclusive as possible.

This is our responsibility and we are actively doing the work. In the spirit of our ‘open door’ policy for everything related to the FLN however, if you have any views or ideas to support us in our journey to inclusivity, do get in touch.
